This year, the holiday season will shine brighter than ever with an event that has become a tradition for families and groups alike. Enjoy a festive stroll along this mile-long trail featuring more than two million lights and lighted scenes themed to holiday music that take you around the Moody Gardens property with spectacular views of Galveston Bay. Stops along the way bring you to see Star the Dancing Tree of Light, concession areas, hot chocolate, fireside S'mores and other festive foods, and mistletoe, along with plenty of photo and selfie opportunities!

It's holiday fun for all ages as a skilled team of master ice carvers has taken 2 million pounds of ice to create your festive journey from the North to South Poles. Encounter polar bears, penguins, humpback whales, snowy owls, walruses, reindeer and so much more. It's a cool experience as you soar down the giant Ice Slide and enjoy your favorite holiday spirits at Shivers Ice Bar.
Please note: The temperature inside Ice Land is on average 9 degrees Fahrenheit, this is to keep the exhibit cold enough to ensure the best experience possible. We advise for you to come prepared and dress warm to visit this portion of the park.

Dive into the oceans of the world to visit to one of the largest aquariums in the Southwest. This 1.5-million-gallon aquarium is teeming with creatures from tuxedo-clad penguins, to seals, sharks, an amazing jellyfish gallery and thousands of tropical fish and more with new and interactive opportunities all along the way.

As you enter through a tree-top canopy entrance, you'll visit the rainforests of Asia, Africa and the Americas in a rare, up-close and interactive adventure with over 1,700 exotic plants and endangered animals that range from Giant Amazon River Otters to an ocelot, Komodo Dragons and other reptiles. Saki monkeys, Cotton-top tamarins, and sloths roam freely while an array of birds fly between the trees as you walk the trails through the spacious enclosure!

Located inside the Discovery Pyramid, the specimens on display show impressive comparisons and contrasts between healthy bodies and organs and those stricken with disease. Particular emphasis is put on some of the most common ailments such as back pain, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases like arteriosclerosis and heart infarctions, dementia, and more. It will inspire visitors to embrace preventive healthcare through an informative and entertaining presentation of the latest research on top health issues.

The attraction opens at 12pm Monday- Friday and at 10am Saturday and Sunday- you are granted admission to it at any time throughout the day within the hours of operation.

Located inside the Discovery Pyramid, Captain Nemo and his famous Nautilus submarine are embarking on their next voyage and YOU will be a part of the crew! You'll help operate the ship, and choose which direction it travels as “Deep,” a robotically enhanced pufferfish leads the dive. He can — and will — have conversations with you to escort The Nautilus to a spectacular coral reef, ice caves in the Antarctic, an ancient lost city, undersea volcanos, and more!

Blue skies, calm seas and picture-perfect sunsets create a gorgeous backdrop for the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, an authentic replica of an 1800’s style Paddlewheeler. This charming 550-passenger paddle wheel boat features year ‘round daily 45-minute cruises along Offatts Bayou on Galveston Island. There’s a snack bar, full-service bar on the Promenade Deck and gift shop on board for your convenience.

Private Penguin Encounter
Go behind the scenes with our biologist for your own Private Penguin Encounter to meet a penguin! During this 45-minute session, you'll start in front of the exhibit then the food prep kitchen, and then to the back of the exhibit while discussing penguin biology, conservation, training, enrichment and care with a penguin joining your group. The encounter includes a piece of Penguin Art and Aquarium Pyramid admission.
This reservation includes access to the Aquarium Pyramid and Private Penguin Encounter for 4 people - if you have a larger party, we will allow the purchase of up to 2 more people at a rate of $90 each, to do so, please stop by our Admissions counter at the Aquarium the day of your visit.

-Private encounters are available Wednesday - Sundays at 2:00pm
-Guests are to meet our biologist next to the South Atlantic Penguin exhibit located inside of the Aquarium Pyramid
-Because this is a special, behind-the-scenes experience, and participants are allowed in staff-only areas, the enocunter is not wheelchair accessible.

In this 45 minute experience, tour the jelly gallery, behind the scenes of our moon jelly propagation and our new jelly lab with one of our Cnidarian biologists. Learn all about how fascinating and beautiful these animals are and the work required to care for and propagate them.

This immersive experience invites guests to explore the mesmerizing mangrove tank in the Aquarium Pyramid. Accompanied by a biologist, visitors will gain insights into the unique natural history of stingrays while having the chance to feed and interact with these fascinating creatures.
This ticket includes access to feed the Stingrays for one person. Each Stingray Feeding has 4 tickets available with ticket sales closing 15 minutes prior to the event.
