Scout Workshops
Older Scouts ages 11-17 only attend our public workshops. Each monthly Public Scout Workshop is $35 per scout. (No adults or younger siblings allowed.)

Advance purchases only. Check-in is at the Learning Place building.

Private workshops are available for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls groups. $300 minimum for up to 10 scouts and 1 chaperone. Additional $25 per scout/adult. Contract the Education Department at workshops@moodygardens.org for more information and booking.

Learn Live Pre-K Expeditions
Join other early learners for fun filled Pre-K Expeditions at Moody Gardens on the second Wednesday of every month (with the exception of June-August on the third Wednesday). Enjoy a fun-themed program which could include: games, crafts, experiments, story time, and admission into the corresponding attraction. Our education staff will even send you home with more “at home activity ideas” to keep the learning connections going. Morning sessions available to fit into your little one’s routine.

Pre-K Expeditions are designed for children 3-5 years old with an adult participating. Older siblings and additional adults may attend as a participant with a ticket purchase. Babies up to 2 years old are free, but will not be considered a participant.

• Members: $10 per person for adult and children 3 years old and up. Tickets are required for all adults and youth.

From the depths of the ocean to the tops of the rainforests, learn all that Moody Gardens can provide to enhance classroom curriculum! Moody Gardens Educator Workshops provide K-12 educators with the opportunity to strengthen skills and enhance career growth through learning various ways to connect nature to the classroom! All Educator Workshops are TEKS aligned and provide 4 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours with the chance for extra credit.

Workshops are $35 per educator. Each workshop caters to a variety of grade levels, includes a pyramid tour, and demonstrates various activities that educators can implement in their classrooms!

The Power of Plastics (Marine Debris)
 
Marine Debris is excellent for educators who discuss environmental issues in their classrooms. This is an interactive workshop, incorporating service learning opportunities and ways to link these actions to citizen science projects. After conducting a beach clean-up, we will assess litter, examine impacts and design solutions for preventing marine debris. During the Marine Debris workshop, lesson plan examples will feature a combination of grade levels creating an adaptable workshop for teachers of all grade levels.

We welcome all teachers to discover how truly amazing sharks are. The Sharks workshop takes a look into shark anatomy, behavior, and more. With a guided tour through our Aquarium, a viewing of a 3D movie, and an opportunity to go behind the scenes on our shark exhibits, teachers are bound to leave with a new take on sharks. Learn Wild Home School
Join us for our all-new Learn Wild Home School, taking place each month here at Moody Gardens! These 3-hour long programs have been created for home school families/groups of all grade levels. Enjoy a focused educational experience each month with different combinations of elements to explore a featured attraction, ambassador animal presentations, documentary movie and engage with our Educators in walk-up hands-on activities.

Check-in will be 9:30 am in the Visitor Center. Programs start promptly at 10 am. Each family will receive a digital education guide to download at check-in that corresponds to the monthly focus topic to use as part of your home classroom curriculum. The program fee is $18 per person (adults and youth ages 3-17 must be registered) for non-members and $10 per person for members. (Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian.)

Join us for our all-new Learn Wild Science Days, taking place each month here at Moody Gardens! Home School students will participate in STEM-focused hands-on learning experiences. These 4-hour long programs are designed for students in an interactive classroom setting. Program participation spots are limited to 24 students per class, and registration is required.

Check-in will be at 11:45 am in the Visitor Center. Programs start promptly at 12 pm.
The program fee is $30 per student for non-members and $20 per student for members. (Students Only – No adult guardians in classroom.)
